v240 made UI embedding conditional on the embed_ui build tag; without it the binary serves an empty filesystem and /ui/ returns 404.
first install enable lanzaboote 'sudo sbctl create-keys'
rebuild 'sudo nixos-rebuild switch --flake .# --no-write-lock-file -L --builders ""'
