vi sucks, our serial connection sucks.
Write a script that

Checks out pvv.m4 and similar files
Transfer file from a modern computer (e.g. over serial / FTP)
Verify file integrity (transfer it back or hash the file on dvask)
Check the files in
Build the changes with make
