This is not working and nobody seems to know why exactly? If it turns out not to be working (shocker, it already isn't), then we should at least document the reasons here or somewhere else.

we have a pretty good idea for why, I think. Missing udev rules.

Once we've done Drift/issues#113 it should be less of a pain in the butt to fix
