It's quite often we need some sort of collaborative document for drift, hackekveld, styret, halvårsmøter.

As of now one of us has just used our own hedgedoc instances:

but it'd be nice to have one for all PVV members

I use my hedgedoc instance absolutely every day, because the idea of a service like hedgedoc is amazing and necessary.
The implementation is however a little awful at times. For example, the first issues that come to mind;

  • Finding notes in a large collection is difficult and unorganized, and "your" notes are only accessible through the browsing history on the front page. If you want to find anything outside your current history, you need to dig in the database.
  • You cannot share notes with other specific users, it is either "everyone", "all authenticated users" or "nobody".
  • Media uploads are confusing, without a way to recover an upload if you remove the embed, and no way to delete unwanted uploads.

All these problems, and many many more, are solved in "Hedgedoc 2", as seen on https://hedgedoc.dev, also see https://github.com/hedgedoc/hedgedoc/milestone/6. There is no planned migration path from version 1 to version 2, and I see hedgedoc 1 as almost unfit for PVV with many features and rough edges being in the way for both administrators and regular users.
I don't know when it is expected to drop with a proper release, but it already looks a lot better and more polished than "normal hedgedoc" at this point.
